I don't see the church part as a "date" per se, but brunch and champagne/mimosas is fun IMO. I think it's fine.

i thought the reasoning behind not going to a movie as a first date was because you can't sit and talk and get to know each other. sounds like the same thing you'd be doing in church.
also, the best part of church is looking at girls, and you won't even be able to do that with a date next to you.
all around bad idea IMO SS breh. just do brunch.

50 minutes in mass >>>> a movie

Only go if you actually want to go to church and not just a way to impress her.
At the time I was looking for a new church. He happened to go to a church I had heard lots of good things about. I had been having horrible luck with dates so figured I could at least check out this church without having to go by myself.

Interactive first dates are the best.
Japanese steakhouse us the best imo. It gives you something to talk about, no pressure.

Exactly, there are some girls and some situations where a first date at mass would actually be a good move if it were genuine. I'm just generally cautious of "day dates" for the first date. Getting drunk on bloody mary's and mimosa's while eating oysters and eggs benedict and watching a Saints game after mass might not be a bad morning/afternoon, though.

No it's actually the church a block from my apt that I have already visited a couple times recently alone. She told me she goes there often when she wants to go blow it out after...

FWIW, I get why people say that movie first dates are bad, but a movie first date isn't a bad idea at all, as long as it's not JUST the movie.
It's the awkward for me. I don't want to sit in a dark room a few inches from someone who is quite possibly a weirdo.
To the OP: I hope she's religious, because if someone took me to church, I'd have run away before it even began

Yeah it would probably be a place like Columns where they have $5 bottles of Champagne and just go through a couple bottles and crafts full of OJ

LL, yeah she does it like almost every other week, goes to mass and goes out to brunch..... Also it was pretty much her idea on going out Sunday and spending the day

or if you even want to pretend so you can get in them panties, that's fine too

Well good luck.
Again...only go to church if you sincerely want to be in church.

First date should ALWAYS consist of meeting at a nice/swanky bar with a wide array of cocktail options. This bar should always be within walking distance of a handful of other bars for your upcoming VENUE CHANGE. The VENUE CHANGE is key because it makes your date seem like an adventure. You were HERE, now you're going THERE. So fun! During the walk from first bar to next bar, you can easily establish touching (arm around her, jokingly holding your arm out for her to grab while you walk down the street, etc). Then at the second bar you can have your hand on the small of her back, you can ask her about her watch/bracelet and touch her hand intimately, etc.
This is always the first 1.5 hours of any first date. Always. The results from here on out vary from a makeout/goodnight in her car to wild animal sex in your pad. But the first 1.5 hours of a date should never vary from what I typed above.

No Marle in the last month I've been going to Mass even before I meet this girl. Just a coincidence

How is mass there? My opinion on your idea really depends on the celebrant.
Posted on 10/20/14 at 10:50 am to SuperSaint
As a non-mass-goer, I think Sundays are the best day of the week for day drinking and gorging on food. You got football, the weather has been nice lately, etc. So I definitely think that part is a good idea.

Beer, burgers and pin ball. A broad who doesn't love that shite has no chance with me.
