Is there anything in this amendment that says government has the right to prohibit pray in a government building? or prevent a public school from having a function in a church facility?

Explain that to me.

The constitution specifically states that "Congress" shall make no law. It seems to me that individual states could make laws establishing a religion, right? If Utah wanted to make Sharia law the law of the state, could they do it? Provided that Sharia law doesn't violate other federal or state statutes, they should be able to do it, right?

How can the courts say that a local or state government putting up a nativity scene is unconstitutional? They aren't Congress and they aren't passing a law. I need someone to explain this to me?
