To be clear, it was one of the partners conveying the office insurance situation given to them from HR. So it was a "matter of fact" type of email, and not some official document generated from an insurance or HR representative. His decision to use the term "Obama Care" and not "Affordable Care Act" doesnt' really matter.

What matters is that the typical ~5% annual increase is about to get octupled. What happens at the next renewal?

Good thing you cleared that up. As you may be able to understand, starting a thread with "Just got my insurance notice from HR" people may misinterpret the quote in your OP as being from the HR department. I am sure it wasn't intended to be misleading at all.

Perhaps you would like to post the actual notice you got from HR.
