Oddly enough, the most religious president of the last 50+ years is easily Jimmy Carter.
Easily? What about Dubya?

I never thought of W as overtly religious.

Dubya is clearly Christian, and a good man as well, but he never struck me as overtly Christian when it came to the office of the presidency. Ever since absolutely he has, but he kept religion to a minimum in the white house. He more or less brought it up only when asked, did the standard prayers and praises to God where applicable, etc.

Jimmy Carter had bible studies in the white house and started just about every meeting with his staff in prayer.
