The only Bose product that I've ever been impressed with is my soundbar.
When Bose hit the early market, I was underwhelmed by the final product. Yes, they were loud for size, but had pathetic response at the high and low end. It was concentrated "mid-range"- they have improved that over the years, but are still way overpriced and overrated.
I remember the direct/reflecting series they had at one time that were fairly impressive. The newer, computer/home theater based products are completely "meh".

I do like Good old Bose 301 speakers. I have a set that are 20+ years old, that still sound great.

After that unit went caput, they bought the next iteration of the Lifestyle SS. It sounds like crap by comparison to the first one.
The only Bose product that I've ever been impressed with is my soundbar. Totally happy with it. Otherwise, Bose tends to be overrated.
Everything Bose I've heard since really sounds deadpan, like it has no range. As others have noted, still way, way overpriced for what you get.
