Yet some of these kids are coming to LSU with hopes of learning a pro-style system so they can get a shot at playing on Sundays.

The spread might be the flavor of the week and winning games, but it's not bringing many quality QB's to the NFL.

They will learn how to block, tackle, throw the ball, catch the ball, secure the ball, run without the ball and run with the ball. All skills needed for the NFL.

First of all, Louisiana just doesn't produce a lot of quality drop-back passers.

Second of all, even with a run-dominated offense, LSU still manages to put receivers in the NFL - receivers that know how to run block, as well as run routes and catch.

The football talent coming out of Louisiana can't be hidden. As long as LSU is winning games and competing for championships, they will be getting on TV and therefore getting Louisiana recruits. As long as they're getting exposure, they will be picked up in the draft. It doesn't really matter what system LSU runs, as long as they remain competitive.

But that number is growing every year.

I think the goal is to run a verse Pro Set with some read option sprinkled in. It's all about diversity to beat the different kind of defenses in the SEC. For instance, the gameplan that can beat Alabama is much different than the one designed against Texas A&M.

I'm not saying it's going to work, because it sounds quite 'Crowton-like', but i see that as the direction of the program going forward.

but we don't run a pro style system. No pro systems use the I as their primary offense and none are primarily ground and pound these days.
