No he didn't. He thought his defense was good enough to win a punt-fest, field position game. If he knew his defense was going to be weak there is no way he'd go into these SEC games looking to play field position. He'd be trying to score.

Do you think they are not trying to score points? This is not a scheme issue we are dealing with. We have an OL, QBs, and TEs that are not playing to their potential. They're trying to score. If Jennings and/or Harris would start hitting wide open receivers in the hands, I'm sure we would see more wide open playcalling. The problem is that the coaches don't have the confidence they can do it because they haven't showed that they can when it matters. A pass play right now is a high risk low reward option. A sack right now is a guaranteed punt situation. Pass plays are at a minimum for a reason.
