2007? I think this is why so many LSU fans are ready to turn on Miles right now. We've been close, but haven't really won much more than cotton and outback bowls since 2007. Is a Cotton Bowl win every 7 years really that much to be completely satisfied?

I guess it depends on the opponent. I think the Outback Bowl is a pretty decent bowl but I wasn't too thrilled about playing Iowa.

Our last win, in the Outback Bowl, was good don't you think? Destroying Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl was pretty OK, but it was only ND, right?

I agree with the sentiment that any bowl win is a good win. While we have obviously won bowl games since, a very memorable one personally was the '96 Peach Bowl.

Our family had endured a personal tragedy that week, and the game was a needed distraction. The program was on the way 'up' but no one could have predicted the success that would follow the next 10 years.

It also displays the contrast in expectations then and now.

good bowl win

All bowl wins are good when you are able to beat a ranked opponent. Bowl names are irrelevant because the SEC doesn't send teams to bowls based on conference standings. There are other politics that come into play to decide who goes to what bowl. All you can hope for is a good opponent and a win. LSU has lost 2 of the last 3, so if beating Iowa doesn't impress you, then you are looking at least 4 years since the last "good" bowl win.

With the talent we have the goal should be win the west, play in the SEC Championship, win that and then go play for the National Championship. That's the goal. Next is a BCS Bowl. Anything less than that with the way we recruit is under achieving in most years. We had 9 juniors leave that are on NFL Rosters last year not including a QB that is backing up in his rookie year. And we still were not in a BCS Bowl last year? UNDER ACHIEVING.

Idk....I seem to remember an LSU team physically assaulting Iowa on the outback bowl (the final score was not telling)

Hmmmm......when was that?????

Hard to argue that it wasnt a good win. You dont pick your bowl opponents. So thats not on miles

I know I'm in the vast minority on this one, but I don't really care what Miles/LSU has or hasn't done in a bowl games outside of the National Championship Game. At the end of the day they are nothing more than just glorified exhibition games where many times the participants are selected moreso on how many tickets/hotel rooms may be sold as opposed to on-field merit. I don't hold Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, etc. losses against Miles, nor is it really that impressive if he wins them.

Any bowl win is a good one. The Outback is no slouch in the Bowl pecking order. And as for the Cotton, it as regained it's status as one of the major bowls. Even the Peach/Chicken sandwich bowl is moving up in the world.

I mean we crushed GTech in the Chick Fil A bowl in 2008. But i guess that doesn't fit your narrative.

We won last year having just lost your starting QB.
