No, the awkwardness with practically staring at a person that's 100 ft away down a long skinny hallway.
It's too far away to start a convo. You could wave to be polite, but then you're just looking at them for however long after said wave.
Has Seinfeld not covered this? Surely he has...

I've actually noticed I have a slight problem with eye contact in general. In those situations, I tend to look away or down when someone looks at me. And then when I'm in a meeting or something , I think I make too much eye contact, like I'm trying to hypnotize somebody.
