Depends on the PT and how they choose to practice, but in LA as long as the patient has been diagnosed by a MD/NP/PA, etc within the last 90 days the PT can evaluate and treat as long as whoever diagnosed the condition is notified within 14 days, or something very similar to that

I'm in PT right now ... the doc just wrote "eval and treat". Never thought to ask but I'm hoping that means just that -- treat until it's made good improvement. Like the PT, know him personally and I'm not worried about him abusing me or my insurance. I just thought you needed an order. Thanks.
