you aren't a part of this team, therefor you can't measure the productivity (or lack thereof) of this particular meeting. Maybe some of "your" players only meetings were useless. Thats more of an indictment of your leadership skills than anyone on this team.

I can assure you there has been a players only meeting, at some point in the time continuum, that has produced positive results. I'll just sit back and hope for the best why you fill a bucket of tears with your cryin' arse

Its the most glaring and can hurt you the worst. Having a qb that refuses to throw the ball.or can't complete simple 3 yard slants, inhibits your entire offense and keeps your defense on the field. Having a bad player at any other spot on the field can be covered up, except qb.

nobody's saying the QB position isn't important

the point is, we have experience at other positions that should help offset our weakness at QB

did you know that 5 of the past 7 national champs had 1st-year starting QBs?

Probably the most false statement I've ever read. If you have just 1 weak link on the offensive line, it can be a huge detriment to an offense, and so far this year our whole OL has been sub par, and it's showing.

As far as defense, you can't cover up a weak LB crew. Its obvious as to who should be out there on the field, and it isn't welter, but as a whole need to step up and make more tackles.

IMHO, I'm more disappointed in the way our defense is playing than our offense.

Good to see somebody has some leadership qualities on this team.
Staff sure as hell don't.

So the players get together and rabble rabble rabble.. What good does it do in the end? Its just players yelling at each other.. We need to get better. We need to follow our assignments etc.. Doesn't add experience to the team or weight or quality DTs and LBs.

End result. MAYBE will be Florida and Kentucky and get waxed by every other team on the schedule.

I guess you've never been on a competitive sports team

The fact that they felt this meeting was necessary is disconcerting.

Don't downplay what playing inspired can do go a team. Don't downplay your best guys getting the most snaps in games to gain more experience. Don't downplay heart and dedication, and the desire to win above all else. Tell me how teams can suck all year, yet play their much better rival to the wire in most years?

How in the hell did 2009 Tennessee vs Bama (eventual national champ) come down to a blocked FG in a 12-10 finish AT HOME??? How did an eventual 10-2 LSU team only win 12-10 against a SEC winless Auburn team? How did Arizona beat an Oregon team, who was dominating everybody, by 30 points last year?

Some times, you just have to believe.

I wouldn't overreact to this. The guys are probably trying to reaffirm to the youngsters that Les is a great coach and the man to lead them.

I respect it if that is the case, although I disagree with that angle.

Still, good to see some leadership coming from the players.

So you are saying that the other teams on our schedule get worse or stay the same? At this point unless there is a drastic change in both offensive and defensive philosophy and an influx of new DT's then no. This team doesn't get much better.

Like I said I'm rooting for close games and that would be a step in the right direction.

Other teams aren't utilizing nearly as much youth as we have minus Tennessee.

QBs - Harris Jennings
RBs - Fournette Williams
WRs - Dupre, Diarse, Quinn
TEs - (lol) Smith (we really need to get him on board)
DTs - LaCouture, Godchaux, LMFAO, Bain, Herron, Gilmore (Valentine hopefully in the coming weeks)
DEs - Bower
LBs - Beckwith (I think will start either this game or next and continue to, from that point forward)
DBs - Adams, Jefferson (only played a little late last year so these are his first real tests)

We have WAAAY more room for improvement than most teams. We need to get on board with the youth movement, full throttle.

I'm not saying expect a win, but I don't think we will be as sickly as we looked against Auburn and Miss St, ever again this year. I've changed my tune.
