Listening to music through a real audio rig really makes a difference. Hopefully every change you make over the years yields a noticeable audible difference.

...from your speaker pic on the previous page...if you close the door behind the speaker when you do critical listening, your bass response will increase bigly. Remember that the Vandersteens are "semi-open", and creating a "corner" with the room walls is akin to a speaker cabinet.
Just for shits and grins, close the door and temporarily place the speaker about 2-3' from the rear and side wall--you should hear a much more pronounced bass response.
