apparently that's what the engineers said at the meeting
Does this sound like an engineer to you?

William Daniel, Mayor Kip Holden’s chief administrative officer, argued that lowering the speed limit could actually increase the potential for more accidents.
“You’re going to have people attempting to obey the speed limit and others who will go faster because the road allows it,” Daniels said.

Here's the kicker...I asked the cop who was issuing me the ticket why the speed limit is only 35. He said that Louisiana law dictates that any road that is not designated as a highway cannot be more than 35 mph. Essen Lane is labeled as a highway and therefore is allowed a 45 mph.
Why the hell would you not upgrade the status of Staring since it's now 4 lanes?!

And I'd love to hear the justification on how lowering the limit 5 mph made the road less safe.
Increased congestion for various reasons including being the shiniest new revenue stream for the BRPD - people going 35 slamming on their brakes because they see the Gestapo.

There are way more intersections with Staring in less distance compared to the part of Perkins you link.
Most of which have its own turning lane separated by a median. 35 is ridiculous.

they probably don't know the difference between to, two, and too.

You would never make the speed limit of a road the design speed. There's no factor of safety there.

Is Bluebonnet a highway between 10 and Jefferson?

Bluebonnet from Highland to Jefferson.
Which was from highland are you talking about? River bound or not?

What if we offer a compromise to Delgado? We, as citizens of Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas, promise to stop launching our trash at the innocent victims of Staring Lane if he agrees to raise it back up to 45 mph?
Seems reasonable. It's all about working together for the good of all.

Not sure why you're laughing. Show me a road with the speed limit that is also the design speed.

And when they lose control and then sue the state for a road not designed to be safe?
People who lose control at 40 mph are dumb enough to lose it at 35 mph as well. The difference is at 35 mph and cops running radar there will be a greater chance that the said nimwit who lost control will hit other vehicles due to increased congestion.

Bluebonnet between Highland and Jefferson. That's clear enough.
I included a link. From highland to Jefferson, bluebonnet is 40. Maybe the the reason bluebonnet is now 40 north of 10 to Jefferson is b/c it was redirected to become a 'highway'. I don't know that kind of shite. But Bluebonnet has a TON of intersections and is 5 mph higher.
But guess what??? It's out of BRPD Jurisdiction.

I can't understand why the speed limit for that road is only 35.

When did "dodging the question" become a euphemism for "common sense"?

Bluebonnet isn't residential. Next.
