My wife had Pre-Eclampsia and started having kidney failure at 30 weeks. She went in for normal checkup at 30 weeks...blood pressure was high so they admitted her for observation gave her a shot of celestone as a precaution for lung development of the baby and collected urine to test kidney function as part of the procedure. Told us she would be on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. Her blood pressure came down and they told us that if her urine was ok we would be going home...ten minutes later they run in and put a gown on me and say we have to get the baby out now. The proteins in her urine were over 10,000 and they were extremely concerned. Baby boy born 10 weeks early at 2.5 lbs. Spent 10 weeks in NICU but he didn't need oxygen as lungs were working fine. Just had to grow. Now he is 9 and completely fine.

I would invest in a BP monitor. Keep an eye on her. If she develops acute visual change, the worst headache of her life, or altered mental status (not making sense, somnolence) go to the ER ASAP.

My wife had a similar situation. Her proteins were sky high on a Wednesday. Doc gave her celestone shots on thur and fri. WIfe felt bad friday evening, rush to OB WIng of hospital, wifes BP was over 200, she had a seizure and they did emergency c section. Daughter was born 8 weeks early weighing 2lb 14 ounces. Daughter had 28 day NICU stay just to get bigger, no other issues. Wife was perfectly fine 3 days later. It was a scary time especially with baby in NICu and wife still whoozy from csection and bp meds but in the end the docs and nurses were great and all are great now. We were at LGMC in Lafayette.
