Altuve

The Astros would have the number 1 pick with out him.

I'll have to go with that guy from the Yankees who just played his last game. Why? cause he is the only current baseball player I could name if I could remember his name...now that Howard, mantle, berra, clete, brooks, kubek, maris, ford have all gotten out of the game.

Oh, you must be talking about Ichiro Suzuki. Interesting pick... I wouldn't have thought you would choose a chinaman.

Although, if Altuve played on a contender he would make the AL vote close.

Are the people saying this being serious?

Altuve had a great year, but I doubt he would even crack my top ten and it has nothing to do with being on a losing team. I thought Trout should have won MVP the past two years despite a losing team.

Jose Altuve

He is also the first MLB player with 220 hits, 55 extra base hits, and 55 stolen bases in a season since Ty Cobb. in 1917.

I'd give it to Altuve, but I'm also a native Houstonian. Guy has a 6.0 WAR, tied with J Bautista for 7th in the AL, but the most impressive thing about him is he has no real lineup protection, yet still racked up those numbers. It will probably be Trout and Kershaw easily, and I cant really argue that, but Altuve deserves a top 5 finish IMO.

ETA: Altuve also has 660 ABs, 2nd most in the entire MLB, yet he still had the best average in all of baseball. He finished with a .341 AVG, V Martinez finished 2nd with a .335 in 99 less ABs, then everyone else is .327 and below. Unreal to think a Houston Astro accomplished that.

Mike Trout. Because he's the best player in baseball. Novel concept.
