If anything, Donnell will be the more boom or bust TE. Seems touchdown dependent

Eh. Not in PPR. He gets plenty of looks.

Week 1-5/56/1
Week 2- 7/81
Week 3- 6/45
Week 4- 7/54/3

Those numbers are touchdown dependent brah. You're looking at like an 11 point per game avg w/o TDs which wouldn't even be top 10 for TEs

Gronk would be around 30th without the TDs. Graham wouldn't be all that without the TDs either. Not sure what is the point of excluding TDs.

Gronk and Graham have history of double digit TDs as well as being their teams top passing options

You're calling Donnell the best TE after Graham and Julius. Dude caught 3 TDs in one game and is still the 5th best PPR TE

Consistent production w catches and yards mixed in w TDs win the race. We shall see

The way leagues are won is to find the Graham's and gronks in their breakout year (see: donnell) and don't fall for the fly by night Jordan Cameron Ladarius green types (Kelce).

You got it backwards

Donnell = green

Kelce = Gronk

Personally, I would take Donnell over Kelce by a slim margin (and it has nothing to do with ownership of Donnell in TDFL).

Donnell has 25 receptions on 31 targets. He has at least six targets in all four games. Eli locks into him in the endzone. I will take my chances there.

This is not a slight at Kelce (who has been discussed ad nauseum), but just a preference for Donnell. Probably cannot go wrong either way as both have a realistic chance to make a run at top 5 among tight ends.

-2nd most red zone targets in the NFL
-Giants offense is better than Chiefs offense

tbh I'm surprised so many so adamantly chose Kelce. Must be Kelce owners I reckon.

Their breakouts dont usually come in their rookie years though. You are betting heavily in favor of Donnell putting up anything close to top TE numbers

Look at the last 10 years

Rookie TEs w 50+ catches
John Carlson (2008)
Jermaine Gresham (2010)
Tim Wright (2013)

Rookie TE with 500+ yards
John Carlson (2008)
Dustin Keller (2008)
Tony Moeaki (2010)
Aaron Hernandez (2010)
Rob Gronkowski (2010)
Dwayne Allen (2012)
Tim Wright (2013)

Rookie TE w 5+ TDs
Chris Cooley (2004)
Heath Miller (2005)
Aaron Hernandez (2010)
Rob Gronkowski (2010)
Joseph Fauria (2013)

Now, 50/500/5 are pedestrian numbers for this benchmark experiment. Great by real life rookie standards, but those numbers arent sniffing the top 10 TE in fantasy.

Gronk's 42/546/10 are the best rookie numbers for the TE in the past 10 years, and they were good for 11th best PPR TE in 2010.

You're basically thinking Donnell has the best rookie season by a TE ever if you think he will be a top 3 TE, which is silly.

By comparison, in year 2,

Graham goes 99/1310/11
Gronk 90/1327/17

Kelce = year 2

Got my first extended look at Kelce on Monday. Damn he looked good. But Donnell looks good too.
