Someone should start an NBA rank thread.

So far for the Pels:

Smith at 409
Babbitt at 403
Young at 401
Miller at 374
Ajinca at 363
Withey at 362
Jimmer at 360
Salmons at 338
Rivers at 300

Still to be ranked:

Anderson
Asik
Davis
Evans
Gordon
Holiday

They are on players 161-180 today.

(I won't have time to get on every day to update, so I'm not making the thread)

How are you so confident? Because we can sign him into a Bird exception?

It appears to be a good fit and we should have the money to keep him.

That doesn't stop other teams from signing him into space.

Next years FA center crop is pretty stacked which should limit the market for a 1 dimensional center. I'm not saying a bidding war is out of the question, but it seems unlikely considering the plethora of FA center options. Part of why we think Eric Gordon is over paid is because the season after we signed him there was a glut of comparable players on the market, and they all got about half as much as Gordon. The center market should work in the team's favor next off season.

A little defensive today?

Not defensive as much as I'm ready for the season to start so we can have some new topics instead of rehashing last season's arguments.

I can certainly see that, but you never know. I certainly didn't expect to see the silly contracts to SFs this year. Do the impending TV deals make someone froggy? I just don't think it became clear that Roberts was not coming back until he hit the minutes threshold that put him out of our price range.

No doubt. Sorry if it seemed like I was jumping on you. I have a hard time sugarcoating my statements.

Most definitely. I'm expecting Asik to get a deal like Gortat 4 - 5 years at $12ish, but with the looming cap increases from the TV money, someone throwing him the max wouldn't completely surprise me. But if they're playing with funny money then so are we so I'd expect to match if we want to keep him.

The only reasons I see Asik leaving are if he's unhappy with his role, and all indications are that what we brought him to do and what he wants to do are the exact same, or we're unhappy with his performance, and he's been pretty consistent in the NBA and just had a great FIBA tournament so I don't expect that to happen either.

No worries, I'm just glad camp started today.
