It's a weekly threat on the tech board. AntennaWeb will give you what you should expect to catch and with what strength of antenna. Since this is for outdoor use, I'd recommend a strong outdoor antenna and mounting it to a roof as opposed to a smaller, indoor antenna, given your 40 mile requirement and likely possibility that mounting an antenna doesn't pose a cosmetic concern to a shed.
