I had a friend in dental school who was addicted to pain pills, and I had no idea until he told me. I knew he smoked weed on occasion. He later told me that pretty much every time we went out, he was on something. He did an outpatient rehab after doing crack. He did it once and swore he'd never do it again. When he did it a second time, he sought help.
