It's sickening how some of you children bash our players, mainly Jennings and Welter as of late. These guys put on the purple and gold and play for us and our state with passion. Maybe they aren't very good or maybe they had a bad game, but the coaches start them and when someone says "I hope he dies in a fire" or anything of the sort, is fricking ridiculous. Grow up and support our team!

Good luck with that one.

Our fans are whiners whose identity is caught up in football.

Agreed.

Let's bash the coaches instead. The buck stops with them.

Countryboy - You are on a public forum where people express their opinions.

They're grown men, adults in the eyes of the law. People shouldn't pile on, but the players can take a little bit of criticism.

Besides which, negative fan reaction has improved over the years. We're not that far removed from the days of Jamie Howard, when he was getting death threats.

Maybe they aren't very good

A ringing endorsement.

I'm not sure I recall any posters hoping a player dies in a fire. I've seen posters say that to other posters (still immature) but not about a player.

Look, this is a public forum for LSU fans to express opinions. The team isn't playing well and numerous players have under-performed. Those players are therefore going to be criticized, and rightly so, since they signed with LSU to play big-boy football. And with that comes pressure and lofty expectations. If they don't want that, go play I-AA ball.

But I think nearly all posters here respect our players, assuming we believe they are working hard, doing their best, and positively representing the university.

But that doesn't exempt them from criticism where it's warranted.

Harris should be starting over Jennings.

Not bashing. Simple fact.

If supporting our team is bending over and letting someone go in dry, no thanks.

Not bashing Jennings at all, Harris is a better talent.

Not bashing Welter either, he's trying his best. Nothing wrong with his absolute best not being up to standard.

This is a free site for people who dont want to pay. It is full of more people who are just trying to make a mess and aren't true fans. True fans have more class and respect for the program. So for the few sincere don't take it to heart. Yes it's sometimes to much and goes to far but have fun with it. This is the rant. Its full of every kind! If you hear something in person then stand up for your team but on here its pointless unless you just want to rant back at them for fun. Before it's over I will either be deleted or have the swat team surrounding me! I can be just as crazy as the crazy shite on here and even worse! Why not everything's allowed on here?

I agree with you we do need to be careful 'how' we criticize the players...but they aren't above critique and this is a fan web site, it will happen. But open bashing is uncalled for.

When it comes to coaches all bets are off, these guys make more in one week than some of us will make in 3 years, they should be held to a very high standard. Fans calling out coaches has been around forever, and will always be. Sometimes these guys are so close to the situation, and so believe in their own philosophy and schemes, that they can't see anything else and may need to be jarred back into reality sometimes when things aren't working.

Can you link to where an LSU fan said this about Jennings or Welter?

This team is talented and young. Personally I believe this team will continue to improve...then at some point in the future, maybe in a tight game....all the pieces [including the rage] will come together....then look out. Young players age quickly in the SEC.

Still sticking to my prediction

10-2

You know what happens when you corner a wounded tiger?
