OMG CINCY BEAT OUR arse THEREFORE THEY R BEASTS!!!

I mean you seriously contributed 3 separate posts to tell us Cincy would beat us by 17 or more at home despite FACTS that would say that's next to impossible.

In fact, if you are so sure let's make a bet.

I will give you 500 dollars if Cincy beats us by 17+ but you have to give me $100 if we lose by less than 17.

deal?

I mean Payton HAS lost to good teams by 31 points in the Dome before. He's been blown out a few ugly times, by 31-14, 30-17 type nasty scores. Even post-Super Bowl year. I don't want to get all Doom Ron Paul with the lasers, but "IT'S HAPPENED" before. I don't get how some people can act like it's so inconceivable and "next to impossible."

We played them last at the Dome, but we have played @ Chicago a lot in the Payton era. Just the way the schedule rotation works, kind of like SF playing here the last few years.

and I'm guessing it'll be frozen tundra again

Calm down, my child. They're 1 of 3 teams that are 3-0 and through 3 games, they appear to be the most complete team. Sheesh.

Make it 4.

No. Not betting actual $ on 2 teams that I don't have a vested interest in. How about I amend it to simply state that I won't post on the Saints board until next season?
That's apparently a win-win for most of you anyways. Deal?
However, what happens if I win? Other than I'll get a good laugh.

Betting that any team will beat the Saints by 17+ in New Orleans... well, that's just stupid.

Personally I would've liked to have dropped it down to 14. But I'll stick with my initial assessment. Unfortunately these 2 teams don't play for a while.

I'm sure Gio will break his leg and Dalton's head will spontaneously combust or some crap a week before the Saints game.

hat's the only realistic prediction in this entire thread

i don't see how people are thinking we magically turn this season around from what has been observed these first three games

What observed?

Yes the defense was bad on the road against ATL(who has a very good offense) and not much better against Cle(who's better than some think). But 2 games is hardly a barometer.

The run game has been solid and brees has quality weapons abound(cooks/graham/colston/stills etc)

Defense looked better after benching PRob and they're getting things straight somewhat.

Time will tell but there's some definite positives.

Apparently it's the cool thing nowadays to talk bad about your favorite team and make fun of optimists

I doubt this. Their Defense is all time bad.

Not an easy game but we've been great after a bye.

quote:

L @ Panthers

They have no RBs and have to rely on newton.

Pass defense is still suspect as shite and got murdered by pitt.

L vs. Bengals

A sure fire loss on the road but a toss up at home. Maybe we'll get flexed to primetime?

Not sure about this one yet

L @ Bears

Cold weather but they're not world beaters.

I see us winning 3 of the above and going 11-5 which is pretty realistic.

I say 11-5 at best 9-7 at worst. I can't see us going 8-8. I don't see why anyone is saying that the Bengals will beat us in the dome. Yes they are good and right now are sleeper picks for the Super Bowl but the best team they played this year, they only won by 7 and then beat an average Falcons team by 14. None of that so far says to me that they are gonna destroy us at home. They have a bye this week and they get 4 straight tough games to really see how good they are. Games I'm most concerned about is the games against the Bears, Steelers, and Ravens. We should win our next four games. Cowboys defense is horrible. They let the Rams put up 31 on them with a 3rd stringer. Buccaneers are just horrible all around and it would shock me if we don't put up at least 30 on them. Lions play three weak teams before playing us and nothing I've seen from them suggests that we can't beat them in Detroit. Will probably be a tough game but winable. And, finally the Packers are in complete disarray. They've looked bad all season and they'll most likely be 3-4 when they play us which will be right after they play Carolina.

Not an easy game but we've been great after a bye.

quote:

The bye weeks are upon us, and with them, the age-old question of whether a bye week's rest rejuvenates a football player. At casual glance, NFL teams benefit from a week off: In the past five seasons combined (2008-12), teams are 85-72-3 (.541 winning percentage) in their first games following their bye week, the group never posting a losing record in any of those individual years.

quote:

But there's an odd twist to this analysis: It's actually not NFL players as a whole who benefit from a week's rest. It's specific positions that gain the advantage

quote:

Quarterbacks experienced the largest increase in production in games following the bye,

quote:

Suddenly, Drew Brees' Week 8 game against the Buffalo Bills looks all the more attractive. It should've anyway; Brees has experienced arguably the greatest benefit from a bye week's rest of anyone in the league, historically speaking.

Brees has managed his best single-game fantasy point total of the year in the first week coming off the bye in each of the past three seasons, and has scored no fewer than 27 fantasy points the week after the bye in any of the past four years. In his career, he has averaged 20.3 fantasy points in the week after the bye; he has averaged 16.3 points per game the remainder of the year.

LINK

Brees is the master of preparation .

...btw, check out that game against the Bills last season after the bye:

Saints win 35-17...Brees goes 26/34 for 332 yards and 5 TDs (0 INTs).

...so ya, in summation, Lions fricked.
