The man that 1st started importing, breeding and selling British labs is Robert Milner. He started Wildrose. Sold it in the early 80's.
He started a new kennel, again importing British labs. He's in Somerville, TN and he is extremely nice and you can call and talk to him. He's also probably the best lab trainer in the world.
I actually bought mine from Southwind Kennels in Grand Junction, TN. Robert Parks owns the kennel and worked with Mr Milner until he Wildrose. He worked at Wildrose until the man that bought it decided he was going to breed american and british. Mr. Parks started his own kennel at that time.
My dogs has been an absolute joy. He's 3 now and it was amazing just how easy he was to train.

There's Wildrose kennels then some other fly by night breeders. If you want a dog bred to go around DU's nets, it's the Wildrose Way or the highway. When it's all said and done 2k for the mutt.

Wildrose does not breed american labs.

I been thinking about it for a while. Might try to get on a spring/summer litter

I can say this, mine did not like jumping out into what she thought was land today. She's got a lot to learn dealing with the marsh. But that face when she was tearing across marsh then hit the floatant was priceless.

I would get a half British half American. Thats what mine is and he does awesome. The short legs, tail and snout are a look I do not favor and I would think hamper a dog especially if hunting in SLA.

The smaller dogs do better in the marsh. The big heavy dogs struggle in that bottomless mud.

I agree 100%. Almost had to drag my fat arse bitch out the mud/pond today.

Yea but most English lab I have seen arent that small and have stubby legs and barrel chested. Also frick paying 2K for a dog, mine was 600 and trained him myself and would put him up against 95% of the dogs out there in a hunting situation.

This is my parents Fox Red from Wildrose. Now take this FWIW because this is a pure house bitch and about 11 or 12 years old.
Short and wide, still as full of energy as the day we brought her home.
As I stated before, my uncle has had about 6 from Wildrose over the years. The best was Comanche (Mikes old dog I think), fully finished and a work of art.

On a leash inside ST?? That's not how you treat a Wildrose Kennel Lab.

We forgot her Wildrose mat so she was lost.

Where did I say they did? The guy that bought it from Milner wanted to do that and it didn't work. That guy sold it to the guy that has it now.
