It's should be obvious to everyone at this point that Goodell is a rotten liar. I think there's at least the possibility that this snowballs further at this point.
EDIT: Just would like to point out that Goodell is the liar, not me, as many of you thought yesterday.

99% chance this is what happened:
1) Rice knocks his woman out and gets arrested
2) Goodell finds out about it
3) After a brief investigation, Goodell hears all of the brutal details
4) Ravens front office calls him and begs for leniency (even though he's been a shitty player for a while)
5) Goodell doesn't want the NFL to get a black eye from the ordeal, so agrees to the lenient punishment and pushes the "Janay may have not been innocent in the matter" bullshite.
6) Weeks go by with the likes of Peter King and ESPN slurping up and pushing the "It's partly the woman's fault" bullshite
7) TMZ acquires the video that Goodell stupidly assumed would never see the light of day
8) Goodell starts telling the "truth", saying that he never saw the video and that's why he gave out the lenient punishment
9) Poop hits the fan

I don't have a copy of his job description but it makes me wonder what he would have done had the Ravens and his friends in their front office had a bounty issue. It was fairly well known that the Saints weren't the only team doing it. We're theyjust the easiest target?
