Got a red card against Pope John Paul HS for some bullshite reason in the goalbox, told the ref to go frick himself cause I knew I wouldn't have to sit out the next game. Coach asked me what I did and told him. He said, "way to go out in flames son."

I was so excited to never have to go to practice again.

I don't remember either high school or college. Too many head injuries. All I know is that I kept my jersey, which I wasn't really supposed to do, but everybody did. It's sitting in my closet right now on the shelf.

I kept my hs and college fb jerseys. Out of everything I lost in Katrina, those are the two things I miss most.

I was average. Was a good contributor, maybe would've been a starter as a senior, and the easiest son of a bitch to deal with on this planet.

Baseball in the playoffs went 0-2 at the plate

played good defensively though and my shoulder was shot at that point in the season so it wasn't the worst thing in the world to finally rest it. Took a couple of months to feel normal again.

last football game watched from the sidelines as our offense tried unsuccessfully tried to mount a comeback in the 4-A state quarterfinals, last basketball game got eliminated from state playoffs in a close game, had 21 points, last swing of HS baseball I sent a ball over the right cf fence, lost the game, walked on at LSU, knew I was out of place, but when I walked away from that last practice field knowing it was all over was a tough day, gf and I got a cooler of beer and went and drank it on the levee, good times

Football, first round of the playoffs. I was the QB and we had a tailback that had run for 1500 yards that year. He was drunk for the game. The coach knew it, he'd done it a few other times during the year. He fumbled inside our own 20 twice, other team cashed both in for scores. We lost by a TD.

We lost at home in the first round of the playoffs and after the coach talk and cheerleader hugs I went and walked around the field reminiscing. I sat on the bench awhile and remember just smelling the grass, the sweat, and smoke from the bar b que at the concession stand. After awhile my dad who always waited outside the training room came and sat down with me and we talked about the game, my career and future. Walking up to the field house I noticed a photographer taking picture after picture, just of us. My dad who wasn't a man of means had traded a prized Canon lens to this professional photographer to shoot the game. At the time I loved the action photos he took, but now just a few years after my dads passing the only one I care about is of my dad with his arm around me this skinny beat up kid, who is now a man that gets melancholy at the memory of his high school football days and those special times with a special man.

Played junior league ice hockey, wasn't really high school, but all high school aged kids. Played defense but forgot to bring my contacts for the game so the opposing team kept calling me four-eyes. Super original.

One of their forwards came right up to the hash with his head down so I took three good strides and buried the kid. Knocked him out cold for about half a minute. It was a great fricking feeling.

I had a pretty long hitting streak from fall ball into my senior season in the spring. Last 5-6 games of the year I slid into a hitless slump. It was bad. Last AB, solid single up the middle. It was nice to go out on a positive note. Never played again. Skipped summer ball to move to BR. I was ready to move on from sports.

2nd round of playoffs.. Was a a surreal moment, didn't cry but was pretty drained emotionally and excited about what was next.. After Having played a sport ( football) for so long and to have it be over, I really wasn't sure what to do. Had a blast playing but it kicked of the next step in my life as all I could think about afterwards was college..

The other snare drummer dropped his left stick and finished 2/3rds of the performance using only his right hand. I was laughing my arse off as I marched around the field
