Apple underestimated the demand for the 6+. They've issued press releases lately stating exactly that. They though that a majority of the people in the market to upgrade their phone would think the 5.5" screen was too big and would opt for the regular 6 instead of the 6+.

If you didn't get a pre-order 6+, or don't get one before the on-hand inventory runs out... you may be waiting a while (like 1 month+) before you'll have access to one.
