I read that as Jon Voight.

Same here. That's why I clicked on it. Didn't know it was about some guy riding a bike.

370W seems low for Jens. He's a pretty big (relatively speaking) guy.

Yeah. I was a bit surprised that was his goal power. Wiggins said that for the World Championships he held 456W for 55 minutes and still lost to Tony Martin by 1:20

They said during the broadcast that he was well above 370 so he might have been sandbagging.

Tony Martin is my hero. He and Fabian Cancellara are amazing TT specialists. Watching Tony Martin TT is watching a man in his element for sure.

I'd love to see Martin, Cancellara, or Wiggins really take an honest swing at the record.

am I the only one who misread thinking that "Jon Voight" died in a wreck doing 32mph?

I know, it was clearly a joke that sounded better in my head. Dick.

now i know my virtual power was WAY off on that hour-long trainer ride i did on monday.

trainer road and strava both have my weighted average power at 350w.

Not unfeasible. You may just generate good power.

Mine hovers in the 350's

Yea. Not a lot of amateur cyclists with that kind of FTP. It's not out of the realm of possibility, though. Especially if you're a bigger or muscly dude.

My brother is 198 lbs with FTP of 300W . . . and he's Cat 4. TheWiz probably has an FTP north of 340W, he's a fast Cat2!

I'm 160lbs and am around 285W and I'm a weak Cat 3.

Anyway, Jens Voigt should have been above 370!

Your what? FTP?

I can dump 1000 watts for like a few seconds, but this effort on the trainer didn't feel like a 350w workout. Just put new tires on the rear wheel...maybe that affected the virtual power readout.
