there is a pair that nests close to where I work and they fish the intracoastal outside my office. I had never heard one call before and never realized how weird they sound. Almost like a damn peacock squawking.

All of our bigger lakes have them now, and there's one that runs the river near Buhlow.

Sept October brings them I each year. I saw one last week at the pond in Hammond that is at the I-12 I-55 interchange.

Had a couple immature bald eagles nesting in Sweetlake about 4-5 years ago. They would fly around and prey on crippled specklebellies/snow geese in the surrounding fields. They could screw up a hunt with the quickness.

I'm thinking it's closer to downtown than that, as we sometimes see them daily near the capital.

had a couple nest directly across the road from our property in S. Shreveport.

Very cool to see these birds in the air and know that they are proliferating again

Awesome pictures! I have seen several near Lake Verret, they seem to really like that area. Have seen a couple of them in Folsom.

+1 to the poster that said seeing Swallow tail kites and MS kites, they make my day also seeing them.
