I'm pretty sure they were the youngest team in the league last year and will continue to rise with Jarmo and John Davidson at the helm. There's so much young talent in their system that it's scary.
That's a good point, as well. We just won the Prospects Tournament in Traverse City (eight NHL teams sent their prospects to it. We beat the Stars in the championship) and had THREE first-round picks in 2013 (none of whom made the big club last year, but all three have at least a shot this year, although they'll likely spend most of their time in the AHL). So it's not like we were the youngest team in the NHL last year with no prospects in the system. We were the youngest AND have some really, really good talent on the farm. It's pretty awesome.
ETA: I'd like for us to get things settled with your avatar, though.

Yeah he's starting to piss me off. I thought JD played a boss move today in the training camp press conference by explicitly outlining the various deals they've offered him.
Him and his agent turning down $46 million for 8 years had me rolling. I'm to the point where I don't want them to offer anything else. $5.75 million a year is an absolute steal for someone with only one good year under his belt (people forget he was benched in the AHL playoffs just two years ago). If this continues, I think they would be perfectly fine moving one of the youngsters up out of Wenneberg, Rychel, or Dano.
If does what's best for him, he'll take the bridge deal.
