Beretta cx4 9mm carbine

With 9mm ammo being as cheap as .22 ammo nowadays it sure seems like it would be a top choice for a plinking gun.

Have you considered an AK? The price of ammo is nearly identical, and you would actually have a rifle that shoots a much superior cartridge.

If you wanted something softer shooting you could always buy one chambered in 5.45x39.

just saw it for $545 here

9mm ammo is pretty damn cheap and easier to find. I wouldn't have an issue owning a 9mm plinking gun that was worth a damn.

They take the same magazine as the hand gun (92fs). Make sense if you already have the Beretta 92FS.

I actually think the standard one has a PX4 magwell and they make a separate version with a 92fs magwell. I'd personally go with the 92 version due to popularity of those magazines.

The CX4 is pretty sweet but I haven't done a ton of shooting with pistol caliber carbines. I'm on the fence about them.

Unless I linked incorrectly, they should be new.

The M92/Arm brace combo was a little over $500 IIRC.

Cabala's in Gonzales was loaded down with .22 ammo today. Could take you pick of Remington, Winchester and federal bulk packs. I chose the federal.

My dad has the CX4 in .45 ACP and loves it. Fun gun and shots pretty damn well too. For under $600, I would pick one up if you are interested.

The CX4 is adaptable to accept any full-size Beretta PX4, 90-series and 8000 series magazines (using optional adapters), thereby saving existing Beretta users the expense of additional magazines.

They make 2 models - PX4 mag model, and 90 Series model.
I don't know what the "8000 series" is.

Also, look at the Keltec Sub2000 if you have any Glock handguns

The 9mm SUB-2000 can be configured in the following magazine types: GLK17, GLK19, S&W59, BERETTA92, SIG226.

The Beretta Cougar is the 8000 series.
