Joe Haden was literally tackling him before the ball got there half the time and he still made those catches.

Yea, it was impressive and bs at the same time. We can lay the corner BS to rest too.

He's had his way with Peterson, Haden, and the entire secondaries of Atlanta and Miami.

That's the issue. I don't think it was an errant throw like people are trying to say, Drew was just trusting that his elite tight end had the ability to make that catch.

He got crushed while releasing the ball. He wasn't trying to put the ball there. Graham was open and had 2 defenders behind him

Still went through Jimmy's hands. Bottom line there. Plus, either way Drew has been catching a lot of grief on here and the media for the pick six that really wasn't his fault.

As long as he isn't playing against Seattle's historically good/physical defense in the ridiculous wind with a partially torn plantar fascia

FIFY

...and in the first game, where the entire team got their shite pushed in, he was the lone bright spot....3 catches, 42 yards, 1 TD...accounted for about 1/3 of the passing offense.

He catches it, it would be considered a great play on JG's part. The ball went HIGH, its hard to catch even if you can almost get your hands on it. The second-by-second adjustment you have to make is unreal.

Drew doesn't deserve the grief for it, the OL does/did.

yep, it wasn't ever true really...Graham can overpower any CB in the league when healthy...and there aren't many Richard Sherman types out there

So he can't play against a physical defense? Does that sound soft?

I agree that it would take a great a great player to make that catch but Jimmy IS a great player. That being said, still 50/50 chance even for a great player

a little maybe...Brees gets less criticism than all but a handful of players in the league...that play was only minimally his fault, but he played his part.

...it's gonna happen sometimes on the road. The worst part is not tackling Gipson before he gets in the end zone...a tackle after that pick is a relatively simple, game-changing play

Really? Did you see the game this weekend? Gates plays the same position as JG right?

Was San Francisco not a physical defense when he made what should have been a top 5 play in Saints history?

2013
Tampa Bay - 179 yards and a TD
Arizona - 134 yards, 2 TDs - 1 on patrick peterson
---injury----
BUF - 37 yards, 2 TDs
Jets - 116 yards, 2 TDs
SF - 41 yards
SEA - 42 yards (our leading receiver) and a TD
Carolina - 58 yards, 2 TDs
@Carolina - 73 yards and a TD
TB - 71 yards and TD

He plays just fine against physical defenses.

Dude goes over the middle for us, takes repeated shots to the head, and gets labelled as "soft" when he is playing with a very painful injury. Insane.

But yes, he got shutdown when the opposing defense did this:

Let me know when Gates does that again to any defense.

SD planned EXTREMELY well against Seattle.

Not to mention that Keenan Allen and Michael Floyd demand some attention. We didn't have that luxury last year

Didn't we have under 100 total yards at the end of the 1st half in the 1st SEA game? All on Graham. He should have kept their line out of our backfield the entire game

You guys are hilarious. I know Jimmie isn't soft. I've seen him take ridiculous hits across the middle. Guess I'm just still bitter about the playoff loss last year and was hoping for a good start this year to sweeten it back up. You guys couldn't wait to have a google backed argument

We should be begging teams to do this to us.

I am confident that healthy Jimmy Graham would get the better of Sherman today.

...I think Gates' production is pretty irrelevant, because I'm sure they didn't game plan for him the way teams do for Graham (at this point in their careers).

Graham saw a lot of coverage from Sherman and Earl Thomas....Gates mostly saw coverage from their LBs who are struggling this season.
