No offense but with the Bose speakers I wouldn't bother.
I only mention the configuration b/c we have a living room that butts up against a set of stairs and a breakfast area.
So the back wall isn't straight all the way through. I can imagine it's going to be difficult to pick the right location to mount the speakers.

If it's a room that is open to other rooms just place the speakers where they make the most sense. The back is supposed to be a diffuse sound field. I'd use the analyzer that comes with the set as it will set the levels of the individual speakers for you.
