I should have decent access to all of the parts in the ceiling, but I think my A/C unit is above where my receiver would go.
Is there some kid of Fishing tool you can use?

Do you drill small holes in the rafter beams for the wires to run through?
Or do you run them along the roof and drove them down?
(I'm guessing along the roof, but wanted to ask.)

Is there a website that helps design the acoustic layout for non-rectangular rooms?

any exterior walls? Exterior walls will have cross beams between your studs which will make things more difficult.
