If us and Bama are both undefeated I say actual attendance is 91k. Which would be a record

It's funny that you don't know what our attendance record is.

Where were you sitting? I was on the East side, near the goal line. I had a good view of the frat/sorority section (where the band used to sit several years ago) that was 50% filled.

I mean first SEC game (especially at night) and a better opponent. But you're right, probably still won't be full.

Fans have been clamoring for night SEC games for years, screaming that's the reason why our attendance sucks. If we have a night SEC opener, ranked #8 in the country, against a good West opponent and we can't get the place full, and sustain it, then it's time to admit the fan base isn't what we think it is and want it to be.

This is a shot of the West side about 7-8 minutes before kickoff. Students are there in good numbers, but it's not full. I don't know if that giant hole next to the gold seats is a student section or not

After attending the game and watching Les Miles dumb down the playbook and run the clock as fast as possible against a garbage rent-a-win, I will never complain about fans that don't show up to these games or leave at the half. That was miserable.

The gold seats, from about the 20 yard line to the 5 yard line are fraternity/sorority seats. Those seats just to the right of them, the empty section, looked roped off, but it has to be more organizational student seats, right?

Can't believe some of you people are worried about attendance when tickets are sold.

The Greek section is half full in that pic. But the other empty section is the band. The GA student section was around 90% full at the start of game time.

Just like in baseball. If they sell 9,000 tickets no one at LSU cares if 3,800 show up.

This is a bad example. Baseball makes far more money on concession sales then it does on tickets. Even with concession sales, baseball breaks even, or just over. It's not a money maker, but it carries itself.

That's not completely accurate. The gold seats from the 20 to the 5 and up about 20 rows are the paid greek seats. Above that is ordinary sideline seats. The empty section next to the gold seats at the top is professional school students, i.e., law school, nursing school, med school etc.. Below those seats are the general admission greek seats. Some of the greeks overflow into the professional student section above. The section with students from the professional schools are never going to be filled because, a) it's roped off and some of those student go sit in other sections, but it is difficult for general students to get in to that section, and b) you are never going to have all of those students show up when most of them live in New Orleans.

Thanks. Great clarification.

I could see the sections roped off (professional schools), and didn't know if those were greek. When I sit on the West side, I definitely can see the Greeks sit in a small part of the gold seats. The jumbotron cameras love this section.
