That's fine. I didn't say you were wrong. I said it depends on where you got the line. My line for ULM was -31. Wisconsin was -4, so it just depends on where you got your line and when.

Taking a 2.5 point underdog isn't really a huge statement. GA Southern is a good team. I think it's a good bet. Even it it's at South Alabama.

Triple option

I was hoping that wasn't going to be the answer

they will give us problems then.

but I'd look for our offense to have a nice game. We moved the ball on Miss St but just had some bad turnovers. WR's also dropped some passes that could have been big plays.

yeah, I'm remembering now. Weren't they the team that piled up a lot of rushing yards on Alabama in 2009? I mean the game wasn't close but still it was impressive how methodical they were running the ball.

Mississippi State has a very questionable secondary at absolute best. They got torched by UAB.

Travin Dural is going to have a field day.

Yeah. They also beat Florida at home last year.

Our secondary is not very good.

Nonetheless, there were 4 plays against our second team in the UAB game that accounted for 300 yards of offense against us.

LSU will be able to pass the ball, but don't look for 400+ kind of numbers through the air

GA Southern can hold the ball for long periods of time, they have a pretty decent defense for their level of play. Their coach, Willie Fritz, is solid he's a Pitt State alum. They have Kevin Peoples who was Petrino's interior DL coach here at Arkansas (and his wife is uber-fapable). GA Southern has only had 3 losing seasons in the modern era of football. This is their first year as a FBS school, but they've got a winning mentality, and Monken brought back their triple option and Fritz is sticking with it apparently.

The Georgia Southern coaching staff has a lot of experience and they've gotten their experience with better than average programs. The coach at South Alabama is a glorified HS coach.

Comparing the tradition of GA Southern to S.AL's is comical. GA Southern won 6 FCS national titles from 1985 to 2000. S. Alabama played 4 high schools in 2009. The following is an excerpt from Jones' bio on the South Alabama official website.

quote:

Just 22 months after taking over the reins of the school’s start-up football venture, Jones helped lead the Jags to an undefeated record in its first-ever season on the field in 2009. And not only did USA go 7-0 against a schedule that included four high-level prep programs, two top-20 junior colleges and a qualifier for the NCAA Division III playoffs, but it outscored the opposition 321-41 while never trailing at any point during the season.

That's kind of embarrassing for a D1 school to brag about.

GA Southern nearly beat Georgia Tech last week, got their win in the swamp recently, and I think they've got the better coaching staff again, and they can keep it really close.

I'm not sure if they'll win, but I think they can stay w/in 2 points.

Bingo.

Always a seem to have a fundamentally solid football team. They were always a good FCS team, and should transition well against smaller FBS teams, like South Alabama.

Bet it'll be a good game though.

you do realize South Alabama is a young program right?

I never once bragged about South having a tradition.

All this Georgia Southern pumping and nobodies mentioned that they were a few seconds away from beating Georgia Tech yesterday, only lost to NC State by 1 point, and hung 83 against the one shitty school they've played

cool

I like the straight up answers like this instead of some copy and paste crap like what the OP did.

while also trying to discredit what our coach built from the ground up.

we'll probably lose. We are still building and have had a few surprises along the way.

not much else to say.

I didn't copy and paste anything but the quote off your coaches pathetic profile bruh.

I gave you no less than 3 specific reasons on why the GA Southern coaching staff is better than South Alabama's that you've chosen to ignore.

I think it's an interesting game, haven't checked the kickoff time but I'll be trying to find a way to watch it if it's not during the Arkansas game.

Am I just being a pessimist fan...or is Florida +17.5 WAY too many points?

Seriously, Alabama incapable of stretching the field. Florida will be able to keep everything in front of them with ease. And with Alabama's secondary issues I could see Florida having success all over the place on offense.

I'm feeling a 24-31 type game
