Purchased a 2011 F250 a few weeks back. It has 50k miles on it and has a little of warranty left. Once my warranty runs out, I want to delete. I know that H&S Mini Maxx tuners are the top tuners but they are going for over $1800 now.

Does anybody know of a budget but safe way to get a DPF delete tune on these trucks?

I will be using a 4" Flo Pro exhaust with muffler, some sort of intake, and a full EGR delete kit from Sinister. Just trying to figure this tuner thing out.

I don't recommend doing it.

Since you're going to do it anyway though, spend the money on the best programmer you can buy. Don't half-arse this or it could possibly cost you a whole lot.

I want to do this to mine but I'm being a bitch about it. I need this truck to last ~10 years which I'm not certain newer diesels can even do anymore. I'm undecided if removing all the emissions crap will hurt or help in the long run. I have zero need for more power, longevity and better mileage would be awesome.

I wouldn't do it, personally.

The bulk of the issues I've heard about with the 6.7 have occurred in the 450/550 series where they don't run DPF.

I've been thinking about what Im going to do with mine too as the warranty is almost out.

Bought my 2011 in June 2010 brand new, had to replace the entire fuel system in 2012-- 12k bones later- Ford said water in fuel...btw when the alarm for emptying the water separator goes off your screwed, They thought I was crazy for suggesting setting the alarm to go off earlier, (check out air dog 2 filters to fix this) Luckily state farm paid that one under a contaminated fuel claim, 5 weeks of arguing but covered.

I since blew the turbo gaskets twice and the manifold once. all covered under warranty. I have no modifications on the truck yet
When you lightly push the engine it drinks DEF like a sailor drinking rum, I went hunting and drove it for 2 weeks in 4wd at around 8000-9000 feet. I complained to the dealer about how much DEF it was drinking and he said 4wd, hauling stuff and altitude would cause it to burn more, would the frick you buy an f250 for?, if I wanted to ride around to buy groceries I could buy a focus....

Anyway, I'm no Diesel expert nor do I claim to have all the answers, yet DEF is not perfect, you decrease a molecule of NOX to increase one of carbon, nothing is free. Urea is a bad substitute for anhydrous ammonia.

IMO-The 6.7 engine is remarkable, whats hooked behind it sucks. It can push twice the performance that it does, the DEF system and exhaust is too restrictive causing the problems with too much pressure near turbo. Point of all of this is the factory system is flawed, your better doing something and your on the right track.

My plan is to wait till something breaks again, yank the whole exhaust system, reprogram and see what happens. If I screw up the engine, I'll throw a cummins in it and check back at 600k, its cheaper than buying a new 250...good luck and keep us posted

I installed an sct tuner egr and dpf delete and exhaust for under 1200. Purchased it at Rudy's performance diesel. I was having an egr sensor that kept going out and ford was going to charge me 1400. No problems yet and I get 14mpg towing my boat
