People's opinions on Williams and Fournette are based on expectations and not actual production. Both have been impressive in the first 3 games.

Why do Darrel Williams is so good threads end up being bash Leonard Fournette threads? Both are doing and look great. Williams will be a great back for LSU and so will Fournette.

That's the way this fan base works. Maybe others are the same way, I don't know. But this fan base has never been able to support one player without tearing down another.

Fournette has across the board better stats, but because he came in with 5 stars, and Williams came in with 3, Williams has to be more impressive in some peoples' minds.

ETA: that's not directed at the OP, who made no comparisons between the two.

I like em both. I especially like them in together. Williams/ Hilliard up the middle, and Fournette to receive a pitch, or a pass.

Apparently, Williams' style of play is more suited for Les Miles 1970's style of football. If LF was playing in a real offense, he'd look a lot better.
This is what the offense looks like with a new or not-trusted QB a la Jefferson. Once a QB is trusted the offense looks like last year.

Going back to the 1980s, wasn't Gary James the highly rated RB and he played 2nd fiddle to the less ranked Dalton Hillard at LSU?

The day after games on here always leaves me wondering what fricking games some of y'all are watching. I have no idea on which planet Williams has been significantly more impressive than Fournette.

It really is comical.

I agree. I said this last week and was bashed. He is a better back. He expects to bulldoze somebody when carrying the ball, LF doesn't.

I wasn't impressed with CN at fullback. I think LSU would be better just using DW and KH at full back instead of CN.

And as we showed last night the full back will get a significant share of the TD runs!

I would say that Fournette is doing what I expected of him, which is a lot less that what other people expected of him. Most of the rant will only be pleased with Fournette if he took every touch to the house, but then they would still find something to birch about.

Williams, on the other hand is a pleasant surprise. I didnt know if he would get many touches thus far into the season and enjoy what he has been able to do. Im glad we got him, to think it almost didnt happen.

I won't say that one is heads and shoulders above the rest, but I know so far that they both look good, and for that, im happy. We're gonna need this run game to be exemplary to succeed in SEC play.

Both freshman will push each other to get better. LF has unbelievable pressure that will am does not. We are blessed to have 2 Freshman like these guys. Will be next hilliard and Gary James.

I think all of these backs compliment each other nicely. Any one of them would light it up if they got 25 carries a game, but that's just not going to happen. Some of you guys need to lay off the fantasy football.

Considering Miles philosophy is 3 yards and cloud of dust...all have looked good with exception of Magee, who is just being out talented.

Magee looked pretty good to me. I do remember a play he didn't do to well on but then he followed it up with a number of special runs right after that.

Magee may be the worst of the bunch but even if that is the case he is good enough. 4 really talented RB's.

So Cam Cameron's offense isn't a real offense. Was it real when LaDainian Tomlinson was rewriting NFL record books?

You mean the offenses he will have to play in if he wants to get paid? We run a pro offense and have an NFL head coach as our oc.
