How can you worry about a QB when we ran 1 WR power I sets all night long? If you people didn't notice we didn't open the book at all tonight.

This does not explain the offensive line play. We had no push. Smaller and supposedly less talented OL are putting it to us.

Even though the offensive game plan was vanilla, this should have been a better showing for the offensive line. My only guess is that some of the shuffling of players hasn't allowed the group to gel as a whole.

1 WR sets with a FB blocking = Box with 9 or sometimes 10 defenders in it all of whom are attacking the ball carrier. 8 guys cannot block 9 or 10. I don't care if their playing a high school team, these numbers don't add up to big gains. It is effective in wearing a defense out and controlling the second half of the game which is all that needed to be done tonight. Might as well get used to this approach from miles in every game, even the big ones. At some point this will prove ineffective when we fall behind to a team that can score on us. The good news is that we've already shown that we are willing and able to adjust in game, spread a defense out, and move the ball more swiftly when this happens. See Wisconsin game. Our o line is fine. Our qb is good enough and IMO getting better. Our defense is really good. Relax and enjoy the season. Big boy football starts this coming week.
