Actually Id be more inclined to believe the opposite. People drawn to a taboo lifestyle would not be drawn to it if it were no longer taboo.

Well, there we go. Your base sociological theory. Basically your guess about human nature, with no burden of proof. But you may very well be right. I guess we'll see.
