Figured we should move from the premiere thread.
This thread is for questions, comments, etc. Spoilers are a given (but no spoilers of episodes past the current episode of the current season).

I hear good things about this one. Supposed to be in the vein of Blink. Looking forward to it.

Are these on the web anywhere? I hate that it conflicts with LSU football. To be honest I hadn't watched an episode in years but watched the premier with Capaldi because he's great. I was impressed with what Dr. Who has evolved into and really like Clara as well as Capaldi.

I loved it.
Spoilers:
It threw me when it didn't end being the sort of episode I expected, at all. I expected blink after the trailers and little talk I had heard. But it had a very different feel, and I loved it. The scene in the boys home was so incredibly well executed and frightening, even though I knew to some extent what was coming. Thoughts on explanations for this scene? I have a sneaking suspicion that the doctor grabbed a kid, brought him to the room after convincing him to play a prank, all to make his point about fear. I hope they don't reveal the monster if it was one. It will never be as scary as it was in that scene. I liked how the episode shifted to an analysis of fear itself, and how it stayed character centric (budget conscious). I continue to like how much classic who they keep referencing. I think the line about about companions and fear was from an unearthly child.
End spoilers

Haven't seen it yet. Don't particularly like this new season. Will watch for Clara. She's

Time Heist tonight. Supposed to have the second best monster of the season (the Mummy in a later episode is supposedly so good that they had to move the time slot back over here because it's too scary).

reminds me a little of Moffats style, nicely done.
and still threading the 'robots of paradise' along with the unknown woman.
I still think Cumberbatch would have been another great Doctor, esp if Moffat did some of his writing.

Mummy on the Orient Express SPOILERS:
That was...odd.
Didn't like Clara's hair.
The mummy itself was good.
Ending was a bit rushed.
Dumb solution for the mummy, weird solution for Clara staying
Liked the jelly-baby moment.
Still a decent episode, but I'd rank it right around Sherwood.
Perkins has to be one of the "nethersphere" people, right?
The much talked about Foxes appearance was...underwhelming. Did she even say a word? Just did a cover song, and not a particularly good one.

Part 1 of the Finale tonight
Posted on 11/5/14 at 6:16 am to TN Bhoy
As expected, people lost their minds over the "don't cremate me" thing (SPOILERS)
quote:
The broadcaster stated on its complaints page: “Doctor Who is a family drama with a long tradition of tackling some of the more fundamental questions about life and death. We were mindful of the themes explored in ‘Dark Water’ and are confident that they are appropriate in the context of the heightened sci-fi world of the show.
“The scene in which a character reveals 3W’s unconventional theory about the afterlife was preceded by the same character warning the Doctor and Clara several times that what they were about to hear could be distressing. When the Doctor does hear these claims, he immediately pours scorn on them, dismissing them out of hand as a “con” and a “racket”. It transpires that he is correct, and the entire concept is revealed to be a scam perpetrated by Missy.”
