Young The Giant is good. Kings of Leon have been pretty terrible lately. Coke Mountain is a pretty sweet spot though

I saw them in Atl the night before and thought they put on a good show. They sounded great. I've seen YTG a couple of times before and they always put on a helluva show.

I was also there, I was really disappointed just a boring and uninspired show.
I got my tickets for 20 bucks off groupon though so I can't complain too much.

That's the feedback I got from the KoL show in the New Orleans Arena a few months ago. They were just going through the motions.

Every time I see them on Palladia it looks like the most boring set ever. They just stand there in one spot the whole damn time.

90% of the set list is from the last 2 albums
No one is there to hear those songs

It's sad.
I saw them at Warehouse Live in Houston with, maybe, 1000 other people and their energy was incredible. I still go to the shows based on them being one of my favorite bands from that time.
I saw Black Keys at the, now defunct, Meridian.

if their setlists are 90% of their last two albums, that is a real bummer.

I'll always like KOL even though everyone I know seems to hate the last few albums

I never understood this line of thinking.
You don't like the music KoL are making, so you go to a KoL show? They make two albums and they shouldn't promote said albums? You realize they are artists right?
I had some friends bitching about a Van Morrison show because he didn't play the greatest hits. The man has had a career of nearly 50 years where he's written scores of albums and songs and people think he should play "Brown Eyed Girl" every night to appease people who only know one song and apparently aren't real fans? I oppose that line of thinking. When you go see an artist do a live performance, you're giving them license to create something. If Van Morrison were forced to play "the hits" set list every night he would have quit making music a long time ago, and what a shame that would be.
I've never heard one solid review of any aspect of a KoL show. I don't like their music and I don't like their style, but to expect them to play only the songs you sing along to on the radio isn't the way to go into seeing a live music performance.
Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well they're famous because there's an audience that enjoyed what they originally put out. Their radio stuff is putting them in bigger venues but those fans will come and go with the wind. You gotta keep your loyals happy.

Actually, KoL never became famous in the USA until Sex on Fire and Use Somebody were released. They toured extensively on YAYMH & Aha Shake but could only make it big in Europe off those albums. Their commercialized sound is what thrust them into the limelight in America.

Yeah, I saw them at Smith's Olde Bar in Atl when they first started playing over here in the early 00's. Had no idea they would take off like they did.

What the hell did you expect?
ETA: I Feel as though I should qualify this by saying I loved "Youth and Young Manhood" and "Aha Shake Heartbreak".
