If she can afford a $2.5 million home in D.C., why can't she afford one in Louisiana?

Senator Landrieu lives in a 5,247-sq-ft D.C. home valued at $2.5 million

I am sure you have read articles about it, but if you want PROOF the link above shows the primary sources.

She's a Senator and a hereditary member of the political class - surely you don't expect her to live in a hovel?

No fan of Ms.Piggy... but...

Why should I be judging her by the price of her home?

There's another dimension to this that no one has mentioned and that is the extra challenge that a woman and a mother faces when she runs for national office. The kids have to attend school and when they're small they need to be with their mother. I could imagine the outcry if she left the kids in Monroe or New Orleans and just visited them on weekends. Male senators and reps often make BOQ arrangements or apartment shares and leave the little woman at home in Podunk to raise the kids. Seems unfair to me.

Cuz she's already bought one in DC?

lots of republican senators do the same, and Cassidy isn't running for Senate out of the goodness of his heart, he want's a bigger slice of that DC money pie so he can buy a house next to Mary's

In all honesty, this is not a big deal. However, not having a Louisiana residence is troubling.

However, it highlights the double standards--if it were a republican senator he would be lambasted for living in DC as well as being a 1%er.

With ML...crickets.

Honestly, I hope for her sake that is not the best she can do.

Is this class warfare, or is it just appalling for somebody to live in the city where they work?
