Watched JFK last night

Have always been fascinated with the assassination of John F Kennedy, and have seen the movie a number of times. I know Oliver Stone had some liberties with making the movie, but it is still very interesting.
I do think it was more than one lone gun man in the book depository building. I was wondering what the rest of the OT thought about what happened to JFK.

Good movie although not based in fact.

My high school history teacher was in that movie. Not a big part, of course. He had one line.

I agree it is a fascinating subject and I side with the argument that the mafia carried it out in one way or another.

Kevin Costner's accent drove me nuts.
It was the Cubans because JFK imposed a trade embargo with them effectively ending the import of the highly popular chinos

I believe it was a mafia hit with the Cubans involved. Definitely more than one gunman.

I was surprised there was more hoopla last year for the 50th Anniversary - although there was some.
I think the evidence is inconsistent - over the years I've wavered over whether it was even physically possible for that kid to do that shooting. I now accept that it is physically possible, but I still don't believe he did.
Someone with government connections was involved either in the shooting itself, or the cover-up afterwards, and that equates to a conspiracy. Now, can I tell you who all was involved? No, and they've stalled enough time that we'll likely never know, now. Therefore, I don't worry much about it.

Here we go again …
But with respect to the Stone movie, note how he mispositioned Kennedy and Connally's limo seats to make it appear that Connally was NOT seated directly in front of Kennedy, but a few inches off-center--a seating position that would have accounted for the crucial "magic bullet." In fact, Connally was seated directly in front of JFK, and the trajectory of the bullet is imperfect alignment with this.
You want to see something far, far, far closer to the truth of what happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963? Watch the 1993 ABC Special hosted by Peter Jennings--pay special attention to the computer recreation of the assassination, based on the Zapruder film. Watch carefully--and learn.

I'm not saying he was alone, but a couple buddies of mine who were snipers said with that gun from that distance was not that tough of a shot for Oswald.

It's unfortunate that many people will come to this conclusion based on a movie; despite the science indicating otherwise.

Joe Pesci was awesome in his role, I only really recall his lines.

Kennedy created so many damn enemies that I think it's common sense to conclude there was a conspiracy. Stone's version is not sensible, however, even if it makes for good cinema

This Frontline episode from 1992 makes a very persuasive argument for the NOLA Mob's culpability. LINK

took many liberties. the supposed eyewitnesses of the other shots from the grassy knoll are completely discredited. 1 was a notorious reporter of false alarms to the police, another was a young woman that was actually on a videotaped interview by a news organization saying that she saw nothing and another woman was a stripper that could not even verify that she was living in Dallas at the time.
the best documentary I ever saw on this was done by Dan Rather on CBS back in the nineties. it was a 3 part show and it was really fascinating. at the end Dan Rather said that he really wanted to prove that there was a conspiracy and multiple shooters, but that he had firmly concluded that Oswald acted alone
it was a great documentary and I've always wanted to get my hands on a copy
