I have a teenage brother, O has a son that age too, and believe me he has a point. He's not talking about the 20-somethings and older that post here, he's talking about highschool kids. The underarmor/nike marketing strategy of convincing kids flashy accessories and unis make them play better has been a huge success.

The Ogre is a joke. I hope that he never works at LSU.
He acted like Oregon's spread and option was so huge and powerful and yet they are just another name on LSU's list of the Chief's conquests.
They are only impressive against the pac's weak excuses for defenses.

I have not seen a single Oregon fan in Louisiana, nor the southeast. Calling crap on this.. I also think the Oregon perception has begun to fade in general.

I am not sure this is as much about if kids wear Oregon gear or not. But it is true that Oregon with Nike and Phil Knight are building very nice facilities and are marketing/recruiting better now than they were 8-10 years ago.
Oregon is a place now as opposed to then that kids at least think about and may even visit where that just did not happen 8-10 years ago.
I think it impacts USC, UCLA and the PAC schools much more than us or other SEC schools.
They may pull a kid or 2 and we will see if they can compete in FL and TX consistently but while I think they are doing a lot of good things up there, Coach O is overblowing it. If you have ever heard him talk it's not hard to imagine him exaggerating a bit.
