Also, I have no idea how this show works.
Didn't it say that they all were gonna vote on who will be their next member? When does that happen?
Also, how the hell does the money work? I see that they had 5 grand (and I also see that Prison Mike and Hillbilly Redd steal it later on??) in cash...what the frick is that for? They can buy things from the outside world? I saw in a preview that they get groceries delivered at some point. Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole fricking purpose of being on their own and "having to survive"?
Also, how the hell are they supposed to "earn" more money? Or are they supposed to use that five grand and dole it out as payments for things, in order to start building a capitalist society?
Nothing is explained worth a frick on this show...no wonder it is all so chaotic.

I haven't seen any feeds, only what's actually been shown on TV, so I'll try to answer.
They can communicate with the outside world. They can't let it be a TRULY real "start from scratch" affair and just throw them on some land with NOTHING, or else they'd die. They give them some stuff (like cash) to start out with. As far as money, they can earn. Like if they build some shite they can sell it and make money, I THINK.
I'm still confused myself on how other people come into the show and some people leave. Not clear on that yet. I was real hammered during the premier last Sunday so I missed some stuff in the 2nd half of it. Last night's ep was pretty good. My opinions on a few people have changed, some for better, some for worse.

Yes, they can buy things from the outside world, but $5K isn't a lot.
I don't think it's about "having to survive" as much as how they structure their society. Surviving is just a part of that, and with money and fertile land shouldn't be a difficult part.
I have no idea how they are going to make money though, I guess selling produce or crafts? It's not like many of them had very marketable skills beforehand, and the ones that did (lawyer, contractor, chef, doctor) can't really provide those services to the outside world while they're on the inside. So they have to make something that becomes an "export" of sorts and I don't know what they're going to come up with.
