My back yard backs up to the swamp too. Everything i have tried, has failed. Everything i spay works for a few days to a week and then they are back full force 
Next i will try some type of misting system or magnet so my dogs dont get eaten alive. I have a 2' diameter fan back there and it is a mosquito massacre that i have to clean up every few days

I live in the country and couldn't go outside at dawn and dusk. I tried most of what has been suggested here with varying results none of which I was 100% satisfied with. Fans only work in a small area, Mosquito magnet would cost $40/ month and a hassle changing out propane bottles.
Three years ago someone suggested Bifen-IT in liquid form. Spray whole yard, side of house, trees and bushes. I borrowed a small boom sprayer and tried it and it works. I bought a john Deere 25 gal boom sprayer for my 1.5 acres and each spraying will last between 2 and 3 months depending on the amount of rain. I have been mosquito free for three years. The cost is about $50 for .75 gal and I can spray my yard twice with that. Mosquitoes spend most of the day on the underside of grass or brush. If they are new or old once they light where you sprayed they are dead.
It will also kill red ants and spiders
In spring time do not spray flowering plants because it will kill bees.
