Is there anyone still hoping that Harris will/should be starting over Jennings?

I keep seeing people posting like LSU still doesn't have a QB that's separated himself and Harris and Jennings are still battling it out to be the starter.

I'm just curious as to why Jennings shouldn't be starting? All I see is low completion percentage and the Rant's favorite "he stares down his receiver." As if a QB shouldn't have a #1 WR or Mettenberger didn't do anything but throw to OBJ and Landry last year.

Is it safe to say that the backup QB will always be the most popular player on the LSU field?

....or is the minority Harris bandwagoners starting to fade? I will admit that the vocal posters pushing for Harris and not "impressed" with Jennings were few and far between this week.

I wish in a blow out Miles would allow the backup to air it out like Spurrier used to at Florida

jennings didn't look like a terrible QB for the first time in an LSU uniform, so of course the people criticizing him will decrease

Harris looked good too... The only thing I was wrong about was saying Dural won't sniff 1,000 yards... Haha, he must have read that or something.

I am as pro Miles and his decision as anyone, and Jennings is and should be the starter...but Harris needs to be in the game whenever we can work him in, I know it sucks to do that to Jennings, but the upside for Harris is off the charts from a physical standpoint.

This is the rant, 3 NC's & 3 Heismans won't stop the rantards from second guessing whoever is at qb. I mean people are bitching because Jennings kept throwing touchdown passes to Dural.

The Harris bandwagon will be overflowing if Jennings doesn't play well @ Auburn and @ Florida. I think the discussion (on the Rant at least) is far from over.

The only thing I hope is that the best player starts. Jennings has been the best but I think we'll incorporate Harris too. He's too talented to be on the sidelines the whole game.

I bet that the coaches are confidant that Brandon Harris will be the starting QB next year. They are trying to bring him along as fast as possible for three reasons.

1. So next year he won't be so green
2. If Jennings gets hurt this year.
3. If we get into a game (Bama) in which we need precision passing on 15 to 20 yard outs.

I think Jennings is the safe option but Harris has potential to be special. The nature of the QB position and the team's overall potential prevent us from throwing Harris into the deep end of the pool in game one.

It's a long season and we have two good options.

No doubt Harris has already shown he has a VERY nice touch on the ball as well as a great run threat. That end zone fade to Dupre was perfect. Jennings is great with the deep ball, and seems to have a better grasp on things right now. What's more comforting is knowing that whoever starts, an injury might actually result in even better quarterback play, so from a depth standpoint, we're great.

Unlike most Rantards, I have no way of giving an informed opinion on this, but I think I some some things that explain why the coaches really like him and his potential.

Harris may be the better athlete or have a higher upside- however it seems things flow better with Jennings right now. Probably comes with experience. Tempo of the offense better with Jennings- at this time IMHO.

Jennings should be the starter for the remainder of the season barring injury. Sprinkle some Harris in to get him reps but now's the time to get behind the starter.

I understand the competition angle, but I also don't think a QB can be at his best if he's constantly looking over his shoulder, concerned that a mistake will cost him his job. Ride with Jennings.

It's the opposite of what Les wants to do so at least half the fan base wants it to happen.

When we finally exit the golden age of LSU football, which we ARE in, my only pleasure will be watching nega tigers eat crow.

#idiots.

Jennings should certainly by the first option at this point. What should not happen, however, given both the lack of depth at QB and Jennings' indisputable inexperience, is for Harris to be relegated to mop up duty, so that he doesn't sniff a significant chance to mature until after the 2015 season. I'm willing to buy into the hype that his upside is bigger than Jennings', and that he should be given a substantial chance to develop this year (consistent with the first priority of winning games). Finally, I admit that my opinion, and submit that the opinions of the other posters here, aren't worth the electrons stimulated in posting compared with the judgments of Cameron, Miles and the rest of the coaching staff.

Jennings has given no reason to go to Harris for this year - but Harris has given no reason to stop considering him as well.

This is Jennings' team to lose, but if he does, you gotta feel damn good about how we look with Harris too.

It's jennings' job right now no doubt. But a year from now, or even in a few weeks, it's gonna be hard to keep harris off the field.

His arm is as good as mett's and he's fast as shite. He'll be a problem once he's a SR. Legitimate dual threat QB.
