Im not even debating whether Phish is better than Tool, to each his own.... But anyone in their right mind knows that Danny Carey is leaps and bounds about Fishman.
Btw, you want to see one hell of a live show, go to a Rammstein show if you haven't been. Holy frick. Caught them 2yrs ago in Houston for the last stop of their tour and it was incredible.

Silly thread, but I'll give my opinion.
Justin Chancellor is a much better bassist than Mike Gordon. When it comes to composition, meter, style, and tone, they aren't in the same ball park. Trey covers up a shite ton of flub notes from Gordon. Mike Gordon has always been an underachiever and honestly pretty sloppy especially compared to an elite guitarist in his own band (trey)
Danny Carey and fishman aren't even in the ballpark as far as complexity and groove especially for what Carey is asked to do in his band which is play in several different time signatures at the same time. 8/9 and other crazy shite. He's known as a top 5-top 10 drummer in music today and fishman, while solid, is just not asked to do nearly as much.

talentwise there's really no comparing the two. Carey is on a different level than fishman. he looked extremely mediocre at the orange beach show.

Stanton Moore is better than both Fishman and Carey, that's not up for debate.
But staying on track...I will not secede that MJK is a better lead singer than Trey.
Trey harmonizes and gels with his band while singing. Trey's voice is almost an extension of his guitar. MJK just yells over everything and gets in some good melodies once or twice an album
