Yep, friend was shot by his girlfriend's dad in front of his toddler daughter.

but my great grandpa killed a man in New Orleans because he disrespected my grandma. Papa didn't even see cuffs let alone a cell. His brother was NOPD, and it was rumored that Papa was tied in with the mafia. He was an ice man. Plus this was back when killing someone, especially of a different race, in the South wasn't really that big of a deal.

THat happened in Alabama, right? I remember the story. I believe that they said he mentally and verbally abused her and that's why she got off. Not saying any of that is true, I'm just regurgitating what I read about the story.

Yes. My aunt was raped and murdered.
I also know someone who killed two people one night and is now at a well known state prison.

No, thankfully. I've had one friend shot in a carjacking but he survived and the little pos is in jail now.

My first cousin was murdered in Breaux Bridge when I was in high school. Killed by a friend who is now serving life w/o parole in Angola.
Another friend was murdered by a handyman type person he had employed at this second/vacation home in east Texas somewhere.

Uncle's GF was killed in a bank robbery back in 1997 in some little town bank he in South Louisiana.

My neighbor when I was in high school was murdered. He was taken from his own home in his own truck, they stopped on top an overpass, beat him to death, threw him over the side, then dragged him back up and put him in the bed of his pickup truck. Then drove his truck onto the actual interstate, stopped under that same overpass and slashed his tires, and propped him against his truck to make it appear as though he was struck by a vehicle while changing a flat. No witnesses ever came forward, this was nearly 10 years ago.

A friend was raped, beat to death and her body was burned. Caught it on camera. Dude fled to Mexico so now he is sitting on jail for life.
