re: Old timers- Any of yall catch tarpon in Lake P back in the day?

I caught four of them from 2000-2005. Nothing huge biggest likely about 70 lbs, but wanted to do it to say I had done it. Once Katrina hit and closing off the MRGO everything I have heard says they aren't here like they were. We used to fish the holes on the south shore. It was a lot of fun but a lot of sitting around waiting too. For my money to catch a tarpon in LA I would go to mouth of South pass or West Delta. Mouth of Tante Phine pass used to be great too but I haven't seen tarpon there in a long time.
