Rewatching the game right now. Man he threw with confidence in the second half, threw where the WR was going. Kid knows what he's doing. He's our QB.

After things have settled, AJ wasn't that bad. Other than the screen passes, he made good decisions and threw the ball pretty well. He's not going to be a star, but he is capable of managing the game if we can keep the running game consistent.

Sorry StatMaster:

Jennings went 4 of 6 for 119 yards in the second half.

a decently thrown pass to Quinn that could've been caught

Quinn made a decent play for the ball and probably would have caught it if the defender hadn't have gotten a finger in there

The only good play anyone in their secondary had that night

There were positives, and there were negatives.

I don't think the play calling helped him, and Desean Smith dropping what potentially could have been a big play didn't help -- someone correct me if it was a bad throw; I couldn't see the play well from my seats.

You have to help your QB out when he's struggling like that, and the rest of the receivers staticky achieved that throughout.

So the bad screen passes are what you guys are gonna take from his performance?

Jennings, on the whole, had a good game. He had important plays on all of our scoring drives and had no T/Os. I'll take that from a true So. starting his 2nd game vs. a Top 15 team away from home anytime.

Nice win!!

46 in a row regular season OOC wins and still some refuse to accept the fact that Miles is a damn fine college coach and LSU is dang lucky to have him.

Jennings looked decent when we actually ran the offense instead of being afraid to throw. Run up the middle, run up the middle, easiest third down throw they could draw up was the game plan in the 1st half.

When they started calling some of the pass plays that were reminiscent of last year, things started looking better.

So he was 4 for 14 in the first half?

Game is 60 minutes. Glad he and the Tigers woke up but that first half was downright awful

jdutch75 Jennings went 5 of 7 for 150 yards in the second half Jennings has to be more patient on the screens. They were set up nicely for good gains if he could have completed a couple of them. This is easily correctable tho

Nerves. He forced it on those screens. Same with the pitch to Fournette.

This is his second game with months in between. He will settle down and get into the rythmn of the season and do much better as the season progresses.

I really think he will.

5/15 120 yards and 1TD in the first
4/6 119 yards and 1TD in the second

No. No he did not. Jennings had a good final 20 minutes. He was awful for the first 40 minutes.

Last yr. we had a Sr. QB who started out at Ga., played in the JR. College NCG, and had been at LSU 2 full seasons and starting for his 2nd yr.

I can understand the lack of a rush to start "calling some of the pass plays that were reminiscent of last year."

He was going to, the DB swiped it away at the last second

This, it wasn't a good pass but Quinn had it. Db made nice play.

Earlier on the series before Harris came in he hit Desean Smith in the hands and he dropped it. That was another drive killer... Was not his fault.

those short screens were not so good. he missed a few reads. the tosses he needs to work on with game speed. Most of his passes were on mark and with velocity to catch the man in stride. He had the team with him in the second half.

A little low, but still very catchable. Nobody was around him so he had time to catch and turn without rushing it.

Me too. Was tackled on one screen, the other wasn't a "screen throw"......freakin rocket shot. Both were "there"/called at the right time, could have gone somewhere.

After watching him the second half, I strongly disagree. He puts the ball in the perfect position about 90% of the time he throws a pass farther than 10 yards. I don't remember any slants, so I can't comment, but this guy can absolutely deliver. I think coming back from that 17 point deficit will be a HUGE boost to his confidence, and Miles and Cam's confidence of him. Don't baby the guy, let him open it up. He has great command of the offense, and looks like a leader. Never rattled, always poised.

Jennings looked better than Sims, Stoudt, and JJ Barret, just to name a few first time starters from Saturday. If he can get a clean pocket like Kenny Hill does, with our WRs, he'll pick defenses apart. Jennings isn't just a game manager, he makes plays! He also looks a lot quicker from last year. I hope we can get Porter back next week so y'all can see just how dynamic he can really be.
